Thereafter, a Petition for Probate is filed with the Register of Wills and an estate account is opened. Assets are collected in later distributed to estate beneficiaries. Any outstanding bills and debts of the estate must also be satisfied. A Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax return must also be filed.
